Representative Democracy no longer meets our needs. We need a Contractual Democratic System.
We need a government that keeps its promises and that we can dismiss if it fails to do so.
In Quebec, we have one worker in four who does not work. One person in three lives below the poverty level.
Our per capita debt is the highest of all industrialized countries: 20 times that of Brazil.
50% of our young do not complete their secondary studies. Half of Quebeckers do not have access to property ownership. The average income of Quebeckers has stagnated for the last 20 years.
Violence is everywhere and remains unpunished. It takes years to obtain justice, and at a high cost.
The availability of free social programs is in question. Adults have less welfare, seniors have less security, the young have less hope than the previous generation.
Who has a solution ? Where is the new society that is being proposed ? Who has the remedy to offer, be it for just one of the problems we are facing?
From corruption to scheming, from manipulation to lies, from delay to cowardice, representative democracy has lost all credibility. Democracy is dead. Dead from lack of courage, from lack of sincerity, from lack of imagination by the politicians.
Democracy must be reborn. In a different way. In spite of politicians.
